Retaining Walls

Retaining walls are becoming increasingly popular landscape structures. There are several different styles in which theses walls can be structured, all of which add elegance to any property. These retaining walls can be built to match existing exterior house stonework, or mixed with stones of an entirely different style and design that stands out.

The initial concept behind retaining walls started are structures built to restrain soil. These types of walls date back to civilizations like the Inca and Roman Empires who used retaining walls as a means of restraining soil for farming lands with vast slopes and hills.  While Bucks County and surrounding areas obviously don’t have to worry about these concerns for farming, ee at American Stone By Luciano believe that retaining walls can still prove to be useful to any property landscape. In addition to their usefulness, we also believe they are elegant.

Over the years, we’ve built countless retaining walls for clients throughout Bucks County and beyond. No two retaining walls ever come out the same because all of our clients have their own vision and reasoning for building their retaining wall. Such purposes might be to prevent flooding or to level out/balance uneven property. Retaining walls can also serve as a structure of high sophistication to any backyard or entrance.

There are also a few ways in which retaining walls can be built as an addition to other stone structures. They are becoming an increasingly popular commodity to our clients seeking an outdoor fireplace. Stone Walls built as expansion to outdoor fireplaces can serve as great side seating to the fireplace. Past clients who we have built entrance pillars for have also had us return to expand them with retaining walls.

Below are several different examples in which clients used retaining walls around their properties:
